The Marketing Communications Manager has primary responsibility for implementing an annual marketing communications plan; and writing and producing all content and materials created to promote and share information about Didlake. Under the direction of the VP, Corporate Communications and in collaboration with other Corporate Communications staff, and senior and mid-level managers, s/he implements a strategic approach to the development of content for Didlake’s marketing communications across all channels – including but not limited to print, broadcast, online and live presentations.

The Marketing Communications Manager is a marketing professional and a seasoned business/promotional writer with a particular sensitivity for how language and presentation impacts perceptions of people with disabilities. This individual must understand how to combine language with graphic design to create effective, memorable and accessible communications that elevate the brand and support the organization’s mission, business development and fundraising objectives. The Marketing Communications Manager creates and/or oversees the creation of all print and broadcast content and design, and works collaboratively with the Web-Based Communications Manager to develop and disburse web-based content and design. The position also supports staff and internal teams using marketing communications to achieve corporate and development objectives. S/he must be able to understand and embrace the organization’s mission and brand and incorporate these principles into a well thought out, highly functional and efficient communications framework.

BS/BA in marketing, communications or related field plus 3 years relevant experience or AA degree plus 5 years of relevant experience. Proficient with design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite) and working knowledge of website content management and Web 2.0 software and technologies. Thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures and the use of office machines, computers and programs, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and audio/visual presentation equipment. Occasional local travel for events or meetings, and occasional overnight travel to some Didlake locations requires valid driver’s license. Flexibility to work occasional evening or weekend events.
